BACKGROUND:

This house originally belonged to a nice lady that the neighborhood knew as “Marge” and has been referred to as ‘Marges house’ since then – even today as I spoke with some of the OLD neighbors….

This house has some clear and OBVIOUS issues…

  • It has a SEPTIC tank, originally installed in 1950
    • Located “39.6 ft S of Upper M/H”
      • Permit was scanned into the LA County Public Works Building Permit database – in January 2023
    • It has a ‘baby ADU’ – attached the garage.
      • Google Earth shows it was constructed between: 2011 & April 16, 2013
        • NO PERMITS ON FILE FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION
      • It has a sizeable addition to the rear of the house
        • Google Earth shows it was constructed before 2007
          • NO PERMITS ON FILE FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION
        • The kitchen was COMPLETELY RE-LOCATED from the original position
          • NO PERMITS ON FILE FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION
        • There is a SERIOUS structural issue in the pictures;
          • A MAIN structural support pillar - of a PRIMARY LOAD BEARING WALL;
          • 2656 Doolittle 00b 
            • Has a VERY ABNORMAL base
            • NO PERMITS ON FILE FOR ANY OF THIS CONSTRUCTION
            • 2656 Doolittle 00c
          • The ONLY (non-septic tank permits) permits on file:
            • Electrical & Mechanical in 2013 to;
              • Replace the HVAC system & upgrade the main electric panel.
            • The roof tiles are visually degraded…
            • The Driveway is the original 1950 asphalt – damaged and de-graded for 75 years.
            • The rest speaks for itself.
  • As I see it - - this is a house that has been SIGNIFICANTLY altered:
    • Structurally - Electrically - Mechanically with;
    • Severe changes to GAS, WATER & SEWAGE (Septic and/or County Connection).
      • There is no guarantee - that someone did not use a garden hose & hose clamps to connect the old GAS line to the new location...!
  • WANT MORE???   LOOK ACROSS THE STREET - to the left...
    • See the WHITE house (2663 Doolittle) - - with NO GARAGE???
      • That 'missing garage' - IT BURNED DOWN - LAST YEAR - -
        • WHY?   FROM AN ILLEGAL GAS LINE INTO THE GARAGE....
          • They were WARNED SEVERAL TIMES; before it burned down
            • (according to their neighbor, who personaly told me.)
  •  The ONLY good things from that garage that burned down:
    • NO other houses were burned;
      • Al though , there was some significant smoke damage to some neighbors houses (however - NOT at 2647).
    • The Los Angeles County Fire Department - FORCED, The Golden State Water District to;
      • Completely and totally replace - the fire hydrant, piping, valve & riser at 2647;
        • Which had been leaking and an issue for MANY years.
          • NOTE: After the fire - the hydrant replacement was COMPLETED within 96 hours.
  • Some owner (of 2656) along the way, made the changes and (per public records) never got permission or approval for these changes;
    • This house (2656) MIGHT NOT be insurable;
      • Would you want to risk your families lives?
  • 2647 Is a house that is FULLY permitted and practically NEW - ready to provide a SAFE & Comfortable HOME for YOUR family...
    • INVESTIGATE all this for yourself - and think it through carefully.
  • All the records, permits and everything else is all PUBLIC RECORD;
    • Easily accessible on the internet...
